Whereas:
- A First Lady was despised by the Republican Party.
- A Presidents' Personal Indiscretion was universally exposed at a cost of 7 Million and the innocence of millions of young people around the world who had to have the story on TV explained to them.
- A First Lady may have been humilated beyond human imagination while maintaining a posture of graciousness.
- A child of a President may have had the image of her father shattered forever.
- A Republican Congress permanently embarrassed and tarnished the image of the White House under the guise of an investigation into perjury.
- A First Lady may have embarked on a mission to retake the White House from the moment the Republican Congress initiated proceedings in the form of impeachment.
- A First Lady may have realized the journey would be long and arduous but worth the time and effort to restore dignity to the White House by sending a message to the Republican Party that America will not tolerate a Congress that is vile and self serving.
- A First Lady is eminently qualified by a legal education, marriage, public service, and public office.
- A First Lady has worked to improve the quality of life for the underprivileged all of her life.
- A First Lady may have had to make "politically correct" decisions in order to achieve her mission to the White House.
- The Ends justifies the Means in some cases.
- A contest between a First Lady and Barack Obama for the presidency is beginning to erode the foundation of the Democratic party.
- A Democratic ticket for the presidency excluding Obama or Clinton would undoubtedly assure the election of the Republican candidate.
- Barack Obama is many years younger than the First Lady.
- A First Lady would welcome Barack Obama as Vice President.
- A First Lady would pledge not to run for re-election.
- Barack Obama has already stated that the First Ladys' supporters would support the Other candidate if given the party nomination but that the Obama supporters would not support the First Lady if she were given the party nomination.
- The undersigned would ordinarilly vote for Barack Obama except for the extraordinary circumstances involving the First Lady.
- A First Lady has no means to articulate all of the above without losing credibility and/or respect.
We the undersigned INDEPENDENTS (and/or Clinton Supporters) PLEDGE:
- To vote Clinton/Obama 2008
- To vote Obama/Clinton 2012 or whichever Vice President candidate Obama would choose
- To abstain from voting in the 2008 presidential election if any other ticket is determined
- To vote for all minority candidates in every local election while V.P. Obama is in office
- To support any programs that V.P. Obama proposes while in office
- To urge the U.S. Congress to vote favorably upon any legislation supported by V.P. Obama
